6th Annual Turkey Transit with On Running

It’s the 6th annual Turkey Transit!

Join us and On Running for a special Saturday Shop Run as we deliver all of the Thanksgiving fixings on foot to Open Doors in South Norwalk!

We’ll start at Veteran’s Memorial Park & Marina in Norwalk, and run 1 mile to Open Doors. How does the food get there? YOU GET TO CARRY AND DELIVER IT! Get creative; however you can carry your goods is up to you. Backpack? Stroller? Big biceps? All good!

After the delivery, we’ll run back to Veteran’s Memorial Park for 1 mile and enjoy refreshments and light bites, or continue to complete a total of 5 miles along the water. What a great way to kick off your Saturday and the holiday season!

Admission to this event is one item (or 2 or 3+) from Open Door’s wish list (see below):

  • Rice (preferably 2lb bags)
  • Dried beans (red or black)
  • Canned beans (red or black)
  • Canned soup or stew
  • Spaghetti or macaroni
  • Spaghetti sauce

  • Pancake mix and syrup
